The Forest Landscape Restoration Program in Amhara
The Forest Landscape Restoration Program use a landscape approach to forest restoration and looks at the target area from a multifunctional perspective, combining natural resources management with environmental and social components.
NFG implements the project in close collaboration with the national forestry authority Ethiopian Forest Development, authorities of the Amhara regional state and other local and international partners. The Program’s phase I is completed (2017-2022) and a second phase of three years is ongoing (2022-2025). The Government of Norway has supported the project with more than USD 9 mill.
The Grant Agreement of the program’s phase I was signed during a ceremony held at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa on 22nd November 2017.
